Lunch & Learn – How To Read & Understand Financial Statements
December 7, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Is your organization making a profit or losing money? Is your organization growing and will it continue to grow? Can your organization afford a loan? What are your organization’s current and future financial needs? Being able to read your organization’s financial statements is the key to being able to answer these important questions. Owning or managing a business or nonprofit without a solid understanding of financial statements weakens your ability to make good business and financial decisions.
In this session, you will learn: what are financial statements, what are they telling you, who creates financial statements and why. You will learn what is meant by cash flow, the difference between accrual versus cash basis of accounting, and how to use ratio analysis to add meaning to your financial data. Don’t ignore your organization’s financial statements as they are a powerful and informative set of documents. Come see your organization in a whole new light!
This session will be presented by Michelle Tracz, CPA. Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with over 30 years’ experience encompassing public accounting, internal auditing and compliance, financial management in manufacturing and nonprofit industries.
